Capitol Building Restoration
Project Overview
- Delicate interior and exterior restoration of an iconic National Historic Landmark
- Extremely challenging logistics: site access only available from 5th floor and above
- Need for entire scope to be completed while legislature was in session inside
The scope for this ambitious four-year project included a large-scale interior and exterior restoration of this prominent landmark. With the building suffering from severe water infiltration issues, the State of New York took this opportunity to combine the necessary repairs with a host of upgrades that returned the Capitol Building to its original glory.
百家乐软件’s efforts were challenged by an aggressive accelerated schedule—complete the project in half the time at no additional cost and without any deletion of scope. They rose to the challenge and delivered the project on-schedule and on-budget, while maintaining the highest preservation standards and working in an occupied government building and constricted site, without compromising safety, productivity or quality.
Outside, the building underwent a roof replacement, stone repair and repointing and various other repairs to return the building envelope to a watertight state. Inside, the team restored original millwork and paintings, as well as the Senate and Assembly stairwells and skylights that were original to the building, but were capped off due to security issues in the 1940s. The entirety of the interior and exterior work was performed in two shifts, while the New York Legislature was in session.
